Lollipop, lollipop
West U’s “Vivacious” Vita Montalbano enjoyed making a child and his parent’s stay at Texas Children’s Hospital brighter as a Radio Lollipop volunteer. Radio Lollipop broadcasts to patient rooms on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursday evenings with children phoning in song requests, telling jokes, and hearing their voices on the radio. Play and help kids with craft activities—and make a real difference for children whose days are filled with doctors and procedures. If you have what it takes to be one of the few, the proud, the silly, call 832-824-2257. No radio experience is necessary.
Classy crew
Gayle and Chuck Carlberg (pictured left to right) along with event founders and Co-chairs Clay and Lolly Becker of West U helped volunteers and staff kick off a VIP reception and private preview at the third annual Classy Chassis™, a premier vintage auto show and concourse event benefiting United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Houston. Monies raised surpassed those in previous years, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Houston (www.ucphouston.org).
Sugar Buzz
The Buzz Magazines, Ben & Jerry’s, and The Junior League scooped up ice cream and smiles for children staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Houston for an end of summer celebration. Creativity ran wild as each child concocted their own ice cream sundae. Pictured left to right are: Debbie Ballard, Buzz worker bee Katherine Bousquet, Kimberly Casey, Carrie Gillette, Jacob Prazak of Ben and Jerry’s, Angie Knust, Courtney Befort, Mary Donnelly, Megan Morris, and kids from the Ronald McDonald House of Houston.
